Asset management lessons from Cambodia - an Engineers Without Borders experience
Abstract
This presentation will provide insights into a holistic approach to humanitarian engineering and the enterprising work undertaken by EWB staff and volunteers and how this experience can be applied to public works engineering in Queensland.
Biography
Gavin Blakey worked as Engineers Without Borders’ In-country manager for Cambodia and Vietnam last year. This complements his considerable experience working in local government with Brisbane City Council.
Gavin has seen first-hand the difference that engineering can make in the lives of people whether they are living in urban or rural areas of Cambodia, or here in Queensland.
