What no one tells you about leadership

Abstract

Most technical professionals don't make the conscious decision to become a leader, it just tends to happen. As your technical expertise increases and your ability to meet performance goals is demonstrated and recognised, you suddenly find yourself in a position of leadership.

Succeeding in a leadership role can be a challenge, as it requires new perspectives, fresh knowledge and different skills. Success means leaving the comfort of making decisions based on logic and analysis and solving problems based on tangible evidence to deploying softer skills around listening, personal relationships, empathy and feelings.

This workshop will explore the some of the key strategies that will assist you in the transition from technical expert to professional leader.
