Kylie Mercer was appointed BPEQ Registrar in 2015. Kylie is responsible for the day to day operations of BPEQ and registering engineers for practice. Since becoming Registrar, Kylie has introduced a range of initiatives to improve the operation and performance of BPEQ. She joined BPEQ from the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) where, as initially the Principal Legal Officer and then Executive Manager, Discipline and Appeals, she was responsible for assessing applications for registration to determine whether an applicant was ‘suitable to teach’ and conducting and managing all disciplinary action against registered teachers on behalf of the QCT. During 2013/14, Kylie also gained experience as Manager, Licensing and Advisory Services at Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Prior to her appointments at the QCT she spent 9 years as a criminal lawyer with Legal Aid Queensland.
