ADAC - 15 years on. What have we learnt?

ABSTRACT

The ADAC (Asset Design As Constructed) system has now been in play for almost 15 years and is used widely by Queensland local authorities and water utilities.
Conceived as a tool to assist Councils with the capture and registration of newly constructed and donated civil infrastructure assets, the system has driven significant improvements in the integrity, consistency and completeness of this important information.
From its beginnings as a small regional council collaboration project with modest budgets, the ADAC system continues to grow in application. Changes in management and governance, along with valuable input from both public and private sector stakeholders, has seen steady development of relevant technologies, tools and processes.
While much has been learnt, there still remain key areas for attention. This presentation reflects on the valuable lessons learnt thus far while considering opportunities for further improvement.
