Biography

Sharon Boyle has an extensive local government and consulting background where she has had the privilege of managing several large and innovative projects. Her local government experience stretches across both Queensland and Western Australia with qualifications in land use planning, environmental management, community engagement and project management. This is the second occasion she has spoken at an IPWEA conference – her earlier presentation was about the Planning Institute’s initiatives on Climate Change and Sustainable Communities – this was highly innovative in 2004. Sharon is the project manager for Ipswich City Council’s Street Light Acquisition project which has been running since last July. Today she will share with you the achievements, challenges and next steps for this ambitious project.
