The Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater) invites you to join us for our Annual Forum in Logan in September 2019.

The qldwater annual forum this year is on 11 and 12 September, hosted by Logan City Council, with most events based around the Logan Metro Indoor Sports & Events Centre. A full program outline is available under the Agenda tab.

If you haven’t been to our annual forum or innovation forum before, here’s what you can hope to expect from this one:

In General

A chance to network with 80-100 water industry professionals, typically including 30+ councils/ utilities.

11 September is devoted to showcasing our hosts and includes a tour of the new Cedar Grove Environmental Centre ( Bus leaves from Logan Metro Sports Centre, 357-395 Browns Plains Road, Heritage Park; PPE requirements – Steel caps boots, long pants, long sleeves, hi-visy vest, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses).  The development will service the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area and includes a new STP (Biological Treatment Bioreactor), advanced odour control system and constructed wetlands. There will be a range of other Logan Water Infrastructure Alliance talks, the Best of the Best Queensland Water Taste Test, range of other fun activities and conference dinner.

The second day is devoted to refining the qldwater industry roadmap.  Throughout the year at each event and our reference group meetings we have been collating feedback from members and stakeholders to inform our work plan, but also focusing on broader collaborative opportunities and developing policy recommendations to drive advocacy. These are based on 10 Key Priorities, including topics like Strategic Sector Investment, Harmonising Water Regulation, and Understanding and Exceeding Customer Expectations.

This event is not your typical conference. There is no call for papers – the sessions are sourced based on the work of our Technical Reference Group and the issues that group has identified as being of strategic importance for our industry.  We work hard to develop a program which engages both our industry and key regulatory agencies to proactively address our challenges.

Contact Diana Kislitsyna if you have any questions or need more information dkislitsyna@qldwater.com.au.

We look forward to welcoming you to Logan in September 2019!
