Castle Hill – Walker Street Connection

Townsville City Council has delivered the Castle Hill – Walker Street Connection project under the Australian Governments Building Better Regions Fund. The Wagners Group was appointed to carry out the works.

This challenging project involved the construction of a new access platform walking track from the existing public carpark located at the western end of Walker Street up through to Jones Street Reservoir located above ‘The Cutting’ carpark. 

The installation of the connectivity platform from Walker Street provides a direct connection to the existing Maidenhair track. This project provides an enhanced and centralised entry point from the heart of the city to Castle Hill for the community and visitors to enjoy.
