Disasters and Emergencies are becoming more complex, frequent and higher impact across not only the Gold Coast, but Australia as well.
The City of Gold Coast, partnering with the State and Commonwealth Government have delivered a $24M Disaster and Emergency Management Centre, which has been built to withstand a Category 5 cyclone, the only building south of Yeppoon to be built to that resilience level.
The tour will allow attendees to understand the design and building component of the centre, along with the state-of-the-art technology which has been built to provide cutting edge information and intelligence to decision makers to better protect the Gold Coast community.
Over 60 minutes, a guided tour will explore what the hazard context is on the Gold Coast, where the City has come from in the previous centre and the design features built into the new facility.
