Timea Steptoe - Engineering the Queensland Way

Timea commenced as Registrar at the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland in July 2022. Timea has over 20 years’ experience in a variety of Queensland Government roles with a background in the development and implementation of policy, operational management and organisational change management. With degrees in commerce and international business, Timea is a highly experienced professional with a strong focus on governance and effective stakeholder engagement at all levels.

Dennis Walsh - Department of Transport and Main Roads

Dennis is Chief Engineer of Transport and Main Roads. He oversees a range of technologies including Geospatial Technologies, Road Design and Hydraulics; Pavement, Materials and Geotechnical Engineering; Traffic Engineering Technology and Systems; Structures; and Safer Roads Infrastructure. Dennis has worked across areas including strategic planning, traffic and transport planning, road safety policy and engineering, road design, road operations and Intelligent Transport Systems.

Jesper Jensen, Chief Operating Officer and Ivan Fan - IPWEA-QNT

Jesper, Chief Operating Officer joined IPWEA-QNT in August 2023 and is a civil/structural engineer with 30 years’ experience in local government, consulting, technical management and building/concrete products manufacturing. In addition to his stakeholder engagement and business development responsibilities, Jesper is also IPWEA-QNT’s technical lead and is the Project Manager of the RRIG Steering Committee.  

Ivan Fan is a civil engineer with extensive experience in concrete materials, durability analysis, and infrastructure asset management. He has worked across government, consulting, and industry, bringing expertise in technical solutions, research, quality management, and product development. Holding a PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on construction materials, Ivan has led projects that strengthen the durability and performance of infrastructure. At IPWEA-QNT, he manages technical products and services, supports industry and government stakeholders, and leads professional development initiatives, ensuring the organisation’s technical programs remain relevant and impactful. 

Matt Bradbury, Sarah Hausler & Cameron Dean - Legislative and Industry Insights from McCullough Robertson

Matt is recognised as a leading Construction and Infrastructure lawyer in Australia who looks to find commercial outcomes for his clients and their projects. He has been recognised for his outstanding client service when he was awarded the Lexology Client Choice Award in London for Construction Law in Australia.

Sarah is a specialist planning and environment lawyer focusing on infrastructure, environment and strategic planning.

Cameron leads the firm’s workplace health and safety team. Reflecting his significant experience in workplace relations matters, he is recognised as one of Queensland’s leading practitioners in the employment and industrial relations field.


Andrew Abbot & Jade Christensen, Queensland Reconstruction Authority - Resilience and Recovery in Queensland

Andrew is a natural leader with broad ranging experience in the military and private sector in operational, strategic, corporate governance and project management roles. Successfully led large-scale, multi-national projects and managed significant budgets (including the Australian Army’s contribution to regional and domestic disaster relief efforts as well as security at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Papua New Guinea APEC summit, large defence acquisition projects, and a strategic transformation project at Elbit Systems Australia). Strategic thinker with Masters’ degrees in both Strategy and Policy and Capability Management. Strong connections with military and veteran communities; served as Director on the Board of Legacy Brisbane.

Jade Christensen is a Technical Director at the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, bringing extensive project management expertise within the government sector. Their background demonstrates a strong focus on infrastructure development and disaster resilience.At the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, Jade progressed from Regional Liaison & Officer to Technical Director, demonstrating increasing responsibilities and leadership. Prior to this, Jade served as a Project Manager at Johnstaff Projects, further developing their project management capabilities within business services.
