Steven Burgess
Urban Strategist

Steven Burgess has spent his 30+ year career helping Cities, Towns and Villages all around the world reform their bad behaviour so their citizens can prosper. Diverse housing, more sustainable movement and quality urban land uses make for happy citizens, although it is rarely pursued and even less frequently delivered.

Steven is a change agent for quality urban life and guides governments and communities to understand land use, economic and movement policy reform to foster essential change. His superpower is encouraging communities and governments to choose a path towards positive change and more happy and healthy communities.

Steven had conducted projects, workshops and city shaping masterclasses throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as Canada, USA, Central America, Middle East and Europe.

Day 3 - Keynote Speaker

Jeremy Kruger
Program Director - Program Delivery

As the Program Director at the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Jeremy is responsible for leading the delivery of three major packages of work:

Tunnel Stations and Development (TSD);
Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS); and
The European Train Control System (ETCS).
In addition, the project is rebuilding six stations within the Brisbane Metropolitan area and constructing three new stations on the Gold Coast.

Prior to joining the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority in 2017, Jeremy had gained over 25 years of local and international experience working for major engineering firms in Australia, the UK and Ireland. Over the last decade, he has been involved in signature rail and tunnelling projects, including the Melbourne Metro tender, North West Rail Link, Westconnex, Moreton Bay Rail and Brisbane’s Airport Link & Northern Busway Tunnel.
